us to advance our mission. Adopted in 2005, our
Strategic Plan outlines how we plan to get there.

Year Strategic Goals
Advocacy
and Influence
USGBC
will be recognized as the authority on green building and the
building-related aspects of sustainable development by business
leaders, public policy makers, media, non-governmental
organizations (NGO's), educators, practitioners, and consumers.
LEED
USGBC
will have launched a performance-based, scientifically robust,
cost-effective and streamlined suite of regionally adapted (
U.S.
and global) LEED products that ultimately lead to certification
and reduce the environmental impact of buildings.
Education
USGBC
will establish and grow professional and industry capacity and
consumer awareness of green building.
Research
USGBC
will be both a resource for existing knowledge about the built
environment and a driver of relevant research.

As Community
USGBC
will be an accessible and exciting forum for everyone engaged in
the built environment and communities.
Organizational
Excellence
USGBC
will be an effectively led and managed, well-governed, fiscally
sound organization.
